Part Three of The House that Toomp Built. 9th and Toomp are sitting around discussing different beats and all. Rocksmith Fall 2008 Collection

The catch phrase is From '93 til Infinity. Does anyone know where that came from? Well instead of scrapping around I'll just tell you. Souls of Mischief came out with a song titled from '93 til infinity and that song is an ode to the year, as well as the belief that hip hop is infinite. That being said Rocksmith decided to experiment with some 90's style clothing in their Fall line up.

What better way to do get a hold of the 90's then to invite Brooklyn’s legendary Talib Kweli, R&B sensation Jesse Boykins III, DC emcees XO and Benji, Swedens Super Viral Brothers and Rocksmith fam Influential P and Law. Check out the lineup.

Puma Mihara Yasuhiro Metallic Pack

Metallics and I have been at different ends of the spectrum for awhile, but in this case I think we could get together. I appreciate this pack because of the design. Mihara Yashuhiro adds the drip effect going towards the sole of the shoe and thats pretty legit.

So my dudes advanced to the second round last night. There are so many people in Philadelphia that hate the Lakers. Like straight up hate. The reason why? I don't know but they better learn to hate the teams that matter, per say The Boston Celtics? they're in your division for crying out loud. Oh well, jealousy does breed hate. I'll give respect where it is due though. The Sixers are giving the Magic all they can handle. but its all for naught because they will get womped second round. Just letting you know!!

This will be the first edition of When Making Music Goes Wrong. Terribly wrong. So i'm surfing around and I come up on this. First off, this song is complete garbage. This is absolutely hilarious though because this guy strikes me as the singing version of Flava Flave.

I always envisioned this video being something lofty but this video just wins as art. The scenery chosen for this video is just unreal. Its good to know that the world is still beautiful. This video makes you want to make sure you keep things in order aound you. Well thats my rave. Just check it out

Tekken 6

So I was looking around and BOOM I come up on the Tekken 6 Trailer. NICE. I've actually been playing Tekken Tag alot lately because there are so many memories from that game. A few friends and I used to go hard at eachother in that game. Law and Lee Chaolun were my guys.(In the later series I began using Jin Kazama when he changed his style) Also if you were a true Tekken lover, then you remember Tekken Bowl. Haha what's better then bowling with your favorite tekken characters? Well anyhow heres the trailer for the new one. The release date is undetermined yet. Still this game will be sick!

Cleveland Cavaliers

Hahaha...I love comedy. Especially when athletes give it a good crack. Even though its the Cavs and the Lake Show may have to play them in the finals..Lebron has always made me laugh with his commercials. Hes a comical dude without trying to hard. Watch this spoof of the Heineken commercial....except with shoes. Just classic. Mo Williams and Delonte West kill me in this.

Rocawear Promo Video

Jay-Z has always had a knack for dressing classy throughout most of his career. I mean you could tell right away when you look at the cover of Reasonable Doubt. Well we have seen Rocawear as a street type clothing line and transition into something able to be worn at a classy event. That is called growth folks. As fashion changes each season, it is wise to keep moving ahead to find an innovative design. I've never worn Rocawear but I do respect its growth and definitely its CEO.

9th Wonder!!

So this is part 2 of 9ths De Blog Jam: The House that Toomp Built. They provide some good insight on the whole beats on CD's process and how people got it wrong. It's not the A&R's job to pick beats ladies and gentleman. They are just supposed to make sure that CD is pushed and hot. Plenty of times an artist could get on a beat and smash it, but Toomp brings up a good point. When you hear something wack, it could be because the A&R is just trying to put his man on or owes him.

Maj Spring/Summer 2009

Ladies!!!!

Its been awhile since I've posted a fashion entry for you guys but I only want to post the best. Sooo no Ugg boots, were only talking fashionista style. I hope that's fine.

Anyways, we have the Maj Collection here. A line started in the summer of 2008, by California native Juli Jun, that is dedicated solely to keeping the colors vibrant and different dyes and washed clothes. Basically pure art on a piece of clothing.

“The Maj brand—an acronym of Jun’s family members: Max, Aaron and herself, Julie— Maj, is the Greek root meaning Magic, which is what Jun equates she is able to do with her unique and sophisticated washes combined with minimalistic basics”.

Vael Project Borg Mid Sneakers

Its always good to veer from the normal. Me personally? Nikes, Supras, and the occasional Adidas. That being said, i do posses a few pairs of other shoes but not these.

Vael Project has in the short time that it has been around already presented a multitude of interesting product. Most notably boots and a beautiful luggage line.

Mos Def's Challenge

Look im sorry, but there are to many people that just do not know real hip hop. What you hear on the radio and prance around your room in while singing in the mirror is not Hip Hop. Catchy hooks and bottles of champagne are not Hip Hop. Elementary vocabulary and structured rhymes ARE NOT HIP HOP.

I'm glad Mos Def is basically getting at this saying this and offering a challenge to rappers. I'd love to see a Mos Def x Kanye x Andre 3000 x Jay-Z X Nas battle. it would be epic because those are some great artists

Alot of other artists would be cooked after the first round.

Throwback Day

C-R-S= Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams. This song is US Placers. Its fairly old but I was listening to it and missed it. The video is pretty dope to so check it out.

Nike x Swagger + Lupe Fiasco = VICTORY

Yo, college has been KILLING me. The mass of work that arrives at me everyday has just become overwhelming but I'm taking it one day at a time to stay positive.

Anyway I know I owe about 5 days worth of posts, so I thought I would drop this one off. Nike, The ruler of sneaks, and Swagger, a Japan based clothing company got together to produce this sneaker set that is just bonkers plus the model is Lupe Fiasco.

Not only are the colors and the materials interesting, Swagger also seems to have played with the tongue, which is different than on the regular Terminator Hi - it’s much longer. The sneakers come in a patent crocodile like material in turquoise and brown with tonal matching soles and laces.. Also they seem to come with a very large SWG (their logo) lace lock that covers most of the laces. We are also not sure if this is going to be the official packaging of the shoe, if so, they come in a chocolate box with custom Swagger chocolate. Release unknown but when i see it I'll post about it.
